Okay—real talk, followers.
I’ve known for a while Warner Bros. has been working for the rights to Kubo’s shounen franchise, but I think they’ve got the green light now. I’m really not amused.
I know ATLA fans of all people should understand why Hollywood should stay away from anime and manga adaptations. There’s plenty of wonderful material here in the United States ripe for a movie that wouldn’t involve cheesy, whitewashed, orientalist bullshit and the destruction of my favorite weekly comic. (Specifically the Soul Society aspect of the comic which incorporates a lot of traditional Japanese culture.)
Please sign the petition and spread the word and prevent another embarrassing failure like Shyamalan’s ‘The Last Airbender’!
